Privacy Policy

How Daily Rudiments handles information when you use its apps and connected services, including the macOS menu bar metronome and widget.

Effective date: September 20, 2026 Applies to: Daily Rudiments on supported platforms

1. Overview

Daily Rudiments is a drum-practice app. This policy explains what information our apps and their connected services process, why that information is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.

The short version: You can practice as a guest. If you sign in, account details and practice records are processed to provide authentication, synchronization, history, and statistics. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for cross-company advertising tracking.

2. Information we collect

Account and authentication information

If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we process an account identifier, email address, and profile information made available to us, such as your name and profile image. Email verification also requires your email address and verification responses. Authentication tokens and session credentials are used to keep you signed in securely.

Practice and product-interaction data

For signed-in users, practice records can include the exercise, practice date and time, duration, and tempo. We associate these records with your account so the app can provide history, heatmaps, statistics, and synchronization across supported devices.

Information already associated with a shared account

Your Daily Rudiments account is shared across supported platforms. It may therefore include wishes, uploaded images, balances, or reward and redemption records created on another platform, even though the current macOS release does not provide Wish Center image uploads or subscription purchases.

3. Information stored on your device

  • Guest practice records stay on the device where they were created and are not automatically assigned to an account when you later sign in.
  • App content and account views may be cached locally to improve reliability and performance.
  • Sign-in credentials are stored using secure platform storage, such as macOS Keychain.
  • Preferences and metronome state are stored with system preferences. On macOS, metronome settings are shared with the Daily Rudiments widget through the app's shared container.
  • Timing values used to schedule beats and calculate tap tempo are used on-device and are not sent to our server as raw system-uptime values.

The widget does not independently send account or practice data to our server.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • create, authenticate, secure, and maintain your account;
  • synchronize signed-in practice records and restore account views;
  • calculate practice history, heatmaps, statistics, balances, and rewards;
  • provide email verification, support, and service-related communications;
  • operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the app and its services; and
  • comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.

5. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose limited information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: vendors that provide hosting, email delivery, authentication, storage, or other infrastructure may process information only to provide those services to us.
  • Sign-in providers: Apple and Google process information when you choose their sign-in services.
  • Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect users, or defend our rights.
  • Business changes: information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

We do not use your information for cross-company advertising tracking.

We require third parties that process personal information for us to provide protection consistent with this policy and applicable law.

6. Third-party services

If you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, the provider processes information under its own privacy terms. The Google Sign-In software bundled with the app declares processing that can include name, email address, phone number, user and device identifiers, approximate location, other data types, and usage-related information for purposes that may include analytics. Those declarations are broader than the profile fields Daily Rudiments requests and do not mean that every listed data type is processed during every sign-in. Actual processing depends on the provider and its configuration.

7. Retention

We keep account information and synchronized practice records while they are needed to provide your account, unless you delete the account or a longer period is required for security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Account deletion removes records from the active account database and removes uploaded files that our service can reliably attribute to your account when no other account or shared content still references them. Older uploads without reliable ownership records require separate review. Failed file cleanup is retained for retry or support follow-up.

Deletion from the active service does not necessarily erase every backup or operational log immediately. Contact us if you have a question about retained copies, older uploads, or a specific privacy request.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. These include encrypted network connections, access controls, and secure system storage such as macOS Keychain for app credentials. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

  • You may use guest practice features without creating an account.
  • You may sign out at any time. Signing out does not delete your server account.
  • You can manage permissions and sign-in-provider choices through your operating system and the relevant provider.
  • You may request access, correction, or deletion where applicable by emailing us.
  • You may delete your Daily Rudiments account from the macOS app or request deletion by emailing us, as described below.

Deleting the app from your device does not by itself delete your server account. Deleting a Daily Rudiments account does not delete your Apple or Google account.

10. Account deletion

On macOS, sign in to the app and open Settings → Account → Delete Account, then confirm the permanent deletion. An account linked to Apple requires a fresh Apple authorization so the service can verify ownership and revoke that authorization. If authorization or the server request fails, the app reports the failure instead of claiming the account was deleted.

On another supported platform, or if you cannot access the macOS app, email support@sikeii.com from your account email address to request deletion. We may ask you to verify account ownership before processing the request.

A successful deletion removes the account and its practice records, owned wishes, balances, redemption records, and sign-in associations from the active account database. Because the account is shared across supported platforms, this also removes those account records created on other devices. The Mac app clears that account's local records, cached account views, and saved login credentials. Guest records and other accounts' records on that device are preserved.

If completion is interrupted, the app may securely retain a separate deletion-retry credential until the server confirms deletion and local cleanup succeeds. The retention limits described in Section 7 still apply.

11. Children's privacy

Daily Rudiments is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app, our data practices, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
