Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to use the app?
No. You can browse the included practice library, use the metronome, and save guest practice records locally on your Mac. Signing in is optional and enables account-based synchronization, history, and statistics.
Which sign-in methods are supported?
The macOS app supports Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and email sign-in. If a provider returns profile information, Daily Rudiments may use your name, email address, profile image, and provider account identifier to create and authenticate your account.
Will guest practice records sync after I sign in?
No. Guest practice records stay on the Mac where they were created and are not automatically assigned to an account. Practice sessions created while signed in can synchronize with your Daily Rudiments account.
Can I use Daily Rudiments offline?
Core practice and metronome features can be used without signing in. Online access is required for account sign-in, email verification, synchronization, and content that has not yet been cached on your Mac.
How do the menu bar metronome and widget work?
Enable Keep Running in Menu Bar in Settings to keep metronome controls readily available. The app and widget share metronome preferences through macOS app-group storage. Open the main app if a widget needs to refresh its shared state.
How do I delete my account?
Sign in, open Settings → Account → Delete Account, and follow the confirmation steps. Accounts linked to Apple require a fresh Apple authorization. The active account cannot be restored after deletion, and deletion applies to the same Daily Rudiments account on supported platforms. Limited backup or operational-log retention may still apply as explained in the Privacy Policy. If the process fails, email us for help.
How does Daily Rudiments handle my data?
Guest records remain local. Signed-in account details and practice records are processed to provide authentication, synchronization, history, and statistics. Read the Privacy Policy for the full explanation, including third-party sign-in services, retention, and deletion.
